Answer
- Check the removable tab that stops the ink from dispersing has been properly removed.
- Check the ink cartridges have been fitted into your machine properly - make sure you hear them click in.
- Check all levers that enable ink cartridges to be added have clicked back into their correct positions.
- Run a head clean on the printer.
- Check for software errors on your computer or printer LCD and print a test page.
- If you are using compatible ink try turning off the printer and resetting as some printers are programmed to only accept original ink but this can be over ridden.
- Consult your printer manual or web page help if lights are flashing. Most problems can be resolved but last resort is to contact the printer manufacturer.
Q: My printer won't stop squeaking?
View Answer
- Our HP Printer 2600N has been squeaking and this is how we solved it:
- Take out each cartridge in turn and let the printer calibrate without each toner cartridge in, to identify the squeaking one. Our culprit was the cyan!
- Unfortunately it seems that replacement of the cartridge is the only solution unless you don't mind a bit of squeaking while you print!
Q: How do I clean up laser toner powder?
View Answer
On your skin:
If the spill has just happened then cold water will get the toner off your skin. Don't use hot or warm water as it softens the toner which then sticks.
If the toner is hard to remove from skin with cold water then it will eventually wear off or can be partially removed with some hand cleaners.
On your clothes:
If you can, as soon as it happens remove clothing and shake out any loose toner. Do this outside so you it doesn't get anywhere else. Don't brush or rub it.
Put 1 tbsp of liquid washing detergent directly on the stain and blot it with a cloth. Then dampen another cloth with cold water and dab at the stain. Finally wash on a cold water setting. If there is still a stain repeat the whole process again then dry.
Cleaning up
Toner powder consists of small particles so should not be vacuumed with a conventional home vacuum cleaner as it can damage the vacuum cleaner. Toner particles are so fine that an ordinary vacuum can't filter it properly and can blow straight through the vacuum motor or into the room.
If toner spills into the machine, again it is not advised to use a conventional vacuum. You may have to remove all parts and cartridges affected to clean or use an printer engineer if the spill is bad.
Our compatible cartridges go through rigorous testing and QA process to ensure there is no difference in quality from OEMs cartridges.
Remanufactured cartridges are environmentally friendly – instead of sitting in a landfill, the cartridge cores are recycled and reused.
